Your Old Girls' Association impact

The Old Girls’ Association embraces the school motto of By Love Serve and invests in projects that benefit the entire St Cuthbert’s community. Impact is measured in four key areas:

Providing access to a dynamic network for Old Girls of the College
Connecting current students at the College with Old Girls
Funding scholarships to support girls to attend the College
Financially support College capital projects and initiatives.

Funding the physical development of the school

The school's physical environment is a living reminder of the enormous financial support the Old Girls have given to capital projects and school initiatives. The gift of giving goes back to the beginning when the Mt Eden College Old Girls gave St Cuthbert’s our precious Bews Bell, which students ring on their last day of school. The Old Girls funded the Old Girls’ Chapel (for the school’s 75th anniversary in 1993), a house at Kahunui, and we were a substantial donor for the Centennial Centre for Health and Wellbeing. The Old Girls have gifted real estate on Market Road, chapel stained glass windows, the chapel organ and significant works of art.

Funding girls through scholarships and changing lives

We fund around $120,000 of scholarships to the College each year. The Kathleen Goulding Scholarship provides the gift of a St Cuthbert’s education and community and every year we support five girls who would not usually be able to attend St Cuthbert’s. The Centennial Scholarship is a fully paid two year scholarship offered biannually to girls with an Old Girl connection. The Old Girls' Association supports postgraduate study and professional development through the Violet Wood Advanced Study Grant and is awarded annually.

Sports coaching for current students

The Old Girls’ Association helps fund a Sports Coaching programme at St Cuthbert’s, creating opportunities for Old Girls to return to the school to coach sport and is a wonderful chance to connect Old Girls with current students and share their love of sport. Tinei Nua, coach of the Year 8-1 team, central zone coach, interzone coach and AIMS coach, says, “I have loved every minute of the season this year. I was so grateful to have an awesome bunch of girls who turned up.”

Connecting women worldwide through our global network

We focus on supporting the career development of the younger members of our community, by connecting them with the global network of our St Cuthbert’s alumnae. We run reunions and events to keep you connected with your year group and support the school in providing Old Girl expertise to current students to assist with their studies or career.

Celebrating success and providing inspiration

We have many inspirational Old Girls who have excelled in their chosen fields, and each year our top achieving Old Girls are recognised in the Making Their Mark and Marking Service Awards
