2026 Graduation Ball

For over 72 years, the Old Girls’ Association has hosted a Graduation Ball to celebrate our Year 13 students’ graduation from school and officially welcome them as our newest members of our Association and global community.

The 2026 Graduation Ball will be held on Friday 4 December, 6pm – 11.30pm, at the Ellerslie Event Centre.

As we have a large Year 13 cohort this year, and outlined in our communication to all families in February, we ask graduates to initially purchase one graduate ticket and up to two guest tickets, where possible.

We understand each graduate may have different guest/family requirements – so if you require additional tickets for more immediate family members, please contact us early at vice.president@stcuthberts.school.nz and we’ll do our best to assist.

The ticket price includes the graduation ceremony, seated buffet dinner, non-alcoholic drinks along with DJ / dancing.  A cash bar is available (I.D. required.)

This event is not appropriate for those under 18, including any current siblings attending St Cuthbert’s College.

As the Graduation Ball is run by the Old Girls’ Association, tickets can only be purchased via the online booking platform and are not able to be charged to your school account.

Dress Code

Graduates are encouraged to connect with traditions and wear long white or pale coloured dresses or pant suits, or cultural attire.  

Guests are encouraged to celebrate this occasion in style with formal attire of their choice, including cultural dress, cocktail style, black tie or suit. 

Graduation Groups

Graduates will cross the stage in groups of two, three or four.

Please nominate whom you would like to graduate with, and make sure you communicate with and confirm your group with the people you have nominated.

Presentation of Graduates

Parents, guardians and caregivers are an important part of your graduation journey. In honour of their support, graduates nominate one person to walk with them and share the first dance. Graduates need to decide this before arrival at the event – but this does not need to be communicated to organisers in advance.

Seating & Table Allocation

Most of our tables seat 10 – 12 people. When booking, please nominate who you would like to be seated with.

If you do not have a preference, please leave this blank and we will arrange a table group for you. All seating will be arranged on a best endeavours basis.

Dietary Requirements

Don’t forget to include any allergies and/ or dietary restrictions.

Graduation Ball Rehearsal – student only

The onsite rehearsal is 2.30pm -3.30pm Thursday 3 December at the Ellerslie Event Centre.  This is a requirement for all graduates but parents/ guardians and other guests are not required to attend.

Professional Photographers

White Door Photography will be on site to capture the evening, and there will also be photo booths.  There are many wonderful opportunities to get both formal and informal photos during the evening with family members and school friends.
